Wouldn’t it be nice to sit on recyclable leather, have your floors be made of easy to clean leather, and then protected by durable banana leaves?  Well, should the concept car, Lincoln C, ever go into production, those things will become a reality!  Sure, there are plenty of summer Ford Specials going on right now as dealerships are trying to unload their 2010 inventory, but there are some exciting features going into this concept car from Lincoln that was first debuted at the 2009 North American International Auto Show in Detroit.  The newly redesigned Insight from Honda Seattle may be experiencing phenomenal sales right now, but if this little car is ever released, there will be some major competition, as the Lincoln C can get 43 mpg on the highway.

Volvo Portland makes some pretty fast cars and drivers appreciate their turbocharged engine performance.  The Lincoln C features a 1.6 L four cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost engine that puts out 180 horsepower and an equal 180 pound feet of torque!  Those figures all combined will really pull this small car around and drivers will love how sporty the concept car will drive.  Part of the performance enhancement could be the result of Ford’s first ever PowerShift transmission, which is composed of a six-speed twin-clutch transmission from Getrag.

So this little car may be a little shorter than the Ford Focus, but the interior is roomy enough to comfortably seat six people.  The seats are sleek and incredibly well designed so that no space is wasted.  The headrests in the seats are weight sensitive, meaning that they only appear when needed.  The driver’s view can be obstructed by a headrest left up in the backseat from the most recent passenger who forgot to put it back down, but this new technology will alleviate that problem.  And of course the Lincoln C will feature the popular Sync technology, only a bit more improved with an avatar to guide you through the technological systems and features.
